As of 1st October 2009 changes have been made to the provision of first aid it is highly recommended that half day basic life support refreshers be carried out annually in order to keep up to date with your practical skills.
All of our first Aid courses are taught by Cheryl herself who brings a wealth of clinical experience and practical tasks to enhance each of the courses.

First Aid at Work HSE approved: A 3 day course for 12 students working in high risk environments. Course has an external assessor attending on the last day to examine each of the students. Each student will be provided with a First Aid Manual.

An interactive enjoyable course with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Demonstrations will be used throughout which will be supported by video footage.
A certificate of competence will be issued by the instructor/assessor and will be valid for 3 years.
First Aid at Work Requalification: A HSE approved course lasting 2 days for 12 students. An external assessor will attend on the last day to examine each student indivdually. Students must hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate and this will be asked for at the start of the course. Each student will be provided with a first aid manual.

Emergency First Aid at Work: A HSE approved course for those in "low risk settings" lasting one day (min of 6 hours) for those wishing to be the First Aiders in the workplace.

A full day course for a maximum of 12 students. Interactive with First aid kit sort, activity sorts, videos, demonstrations and pub style quizzes.
A certificate will be issued by the instructor valid for 3 years.
Appointed Person: A one day course (6 hours) for up to 14 students that is both practical and theory based. Suitable for those with no prior first aid knowledge and those who wish to be an appointed person in the workplace.

This course is very interactive and involves both floor work with the manikins plus dressings, slings, and questions/answer slots.
A certificate will be issued by the instructor valid for 3 years.
Basic Life Support (Adults): A half day course (4 hours) that is both practical and theory based. This is ideal as an annual refresher as recommended by the HSE. Suitable for anyone who already holds a First Aid certificate or those who want to get a taster in first aid.

This course is taught from a theory and practical perspective. Manikins will be used, along with practical demonstrations, videos and power point.
A certificate of competence will be issued by the instructor valid for one year.
Basic Life Support (Children): A half day course (4 hours) compromising theory and practical. Age range covered is from birth up to adulthood. Different sized manikins will be available to simulate each of the age ranges. Course is suitable for both clinical or non clinical staff or indeed parent or carers of young children who want to know what to do in an emergency.

How to recognise seriously ill child
The course is taught from a theory and practical perspective. Videos, practical demonstrations, and medical scenarios will be used.
