Asthma, Diabetes and Epilepsy Management:  A half day course (4 hours) for 14 students covering management and treatment of the above conditions. This course is suitable for non clinical staff who work in a healthcare setting or carers who may require greater understanding of these conditions. No previous knowledge is required. Please note this does not cover the use of rectal medications.

This course is delivered in informal style with plenty of hands on elements such as crosswords, practical components and the use of video footage.

A certificate of attendance will be issued by the instructor.

Visual Impairment Awareness: A half day course (4 hours) suitable for any member of the public, clinical staff or large organisations needing to know more about visual impairment. No previous knowledge is required. The certificate issued can be used as evidence to demonstrate a basic knowledge in visual impairment, consistent with organisations that require proof they are working towards non discriminatory practice.

This course is delivered in an informative style with plenty of hands on experience. Students will use simulation specs to simulate eye conditions and will be asked to undertake a number of daily activities. Students will also be shown the correct way to guide someone with a visual impairment and will be given opportunity to practice this skill.

A certificate of attendance will be issued by the instructor.

Medication Administration: A half day course (4 hours) for up to 12 students suitable for clinical staff in the NHS, private healthcare or medical settings. Also suitable for any organisations that administer medications. No formal qualification is required although must be in a setting where they are dispensing medication regularly.
