What are the First-Aid requirements for my business?

In 2013 HSE approvals ended for first aid training provision, instead it was recommended that companies carried out due diligence checks to ensure their chosen provider was following correct protocol. If a company chose to use a first aid training provider who was not registered with an awarding body, they would need to carry out checks to ensure the training both met their needs, and was delivered to the required standard.

Angel Training chose to register with Qualsafe, this is an awarding body. This means all the checks have been carried out already for you.

You can assess your requirements using our online calculator direct from this website, safe in the knowledge any checks have already been carried out. The calculator will ask questions to ascertain how many first aider’s your business requires, and to what level they should be trained.

When delivering the course we will require a safe space in order to deliver the training. We will need access to electric, (as we often use powerpoints or training videos,) lighting and suitable heating so the attendees are comfortable.  The attendees will need to have room to lay on the floor, so we need an area that is clear from objects around their heads.  If you do not have much clear floor space it may be sensible to reduce the amount of attendees. Clear floor space is vital to ensure the safety of your staff.  If the trainer feels the room is unsafe for the attendees, we may not be able to deliver the course. If you have any concerns about the space you have available, please do feel free to discuss with us at the time of the booking.

Are your courses suitable for people with disabilities?

Yes, we cater for all people.  All that we ask is that you please just inform us when making an enquiry so we can make sure we can cater for your need. We can provide a sign language interpreter for people that are hearing impaired (at an extra cost.)

Electronic copies of hand outs or large print versions of training materials are available for the majority of courses.

What can I expect on the day?

Everyone’s experience differs, but what you can expect is a professional and dedicated trainer who will answer any questions that you may have. Some courses may have written elements, but also expect to get hands-on as first aid is very much a practically based course.

On the booking form you will be asked if there are any educational or medical needs that we need to be aware of. In the vast majority of cases this will not prevent you taking part, but declaring this information allows our trainers to tailor the session, to be as inclusive as possible to your needs.

Can I have a copy of your terms and conditions?

Yes, just contact us and let us know which courses you’re interested in and request the T&Cs and we’ll do the rest.  You can also view our Terms and Conditions here.

What do I wear on the day?

Wear comfortable appropriate clothing, and flat shoes as you will be required to be hands-on.

How long is my certificate valid for?

Each of the courses have a different expiry. You will find specific details about the certificate on the courses pages.

How long will the course last on the day?

All of our courses vary in length, but you will find specific course information on the courses pages.

When will I receive my certificate?

Certificates are issued once full payment is received. Full details of the type of certificate you will receive are listed on each specific course page. Paper certificates are posted within 3 business days  of payment being made. Digital certificates are emailed out each week  so you could expect to receive them within 5 business days of payment being made.

For online courses, as soon as you successfully complete the course you will be able to immediately download your certificate.

What payment terms and payment types are accepted?

For corporate and business clients there is a 28 day invoice term. If this date is not adhered to then interest will be charged.  Interest rates are listed in our terms and conditions.

BACS and cheques are accepted for business and corporate clients.  Details of how to pay are included on your invoice.

For our online courses we accept payment via paypal. You do not need to have a paypal account in order to use this part of our service, you can pay via paypal directly from your credit/debit card.

Unfortunately we are unable to accept paypal transactions for any of our other courses, besides our online services.

When and where are your courses held?

All of our courses can to be scheduled at a date/time to suit you – just contact us to find out whether your preferred date is available. Courses can be held in the evenings or on a Saturday, however there is limited availability for this.

When deciding if your venue is suitable to hold your first aid course, please be aware we will require a safe space in order to deliver the training. We also offered scheduled open course dates for our paediatric first aid at work course, which are held at a venue in Larkfield, Kent.

Our online courses can begin whenever you wish, simply purchase a license, log in and begin learning!

How do the online courses work?

If you are interested in any of the online courses you have the option to try module 1 before you buy. This gives you a feel for the course, so you can check the content is suitable for you, and see how the video presentations work.

To either trial a course or log in to one you have purchased  simply click the required link “log in or register a trial” if you want to purchase a course please click this link “buy this online course”

Once you register for a trial, or purchase a course, you will automatically be emailed a log in name and password direct to the email you signed up with. Please keep an eye out in your spam or junk boxes if this doesn’t arrive within 5 minutes. This facility works even out of office hours, so you really can begin any time.

You will need to have the sound enabled for all our videos, and some require flash player to be installed on your device.

Our online courses are tailored and branded for us specifically, but registered to us under a licence. This means a new window will open to the hosting site when you begin the courses. This is perfectly safe but if you have any concerns please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Do your prices include VAT?

As a small independent business we are not registered for VAT so the prices you see for both our onsite and online courses, are the prices you pay. Mileage may however be applied for courses held outside of Kent.

 

Is mileage applied to all courses?

Mileage is applied to courses held outside the county of Kent. Mileage fee’s are charged at 45p per mile and you will be notified of the fees at the time of enquiry, so are aware of the full costs prior to booking.

For corporate courses held in Kent no mileage fee’s are applied.
